Hey, I’m Millie.

I write essays about creativity, quiet lives, coffee, identity, and the strange little ways we accidentally become ourselves.

Run for the Quiet is where I collect those thoughts before they disappear.

Most posts begin with something small. A cup of coffee. A train journey. Blue hair. A magpie. A half-finished sketch. They usually end somewhere I wasn’t expecting.

You’ll find reflections on neurodivergence, creativity, burnout, books, photography, running, stationery, and whatever else my brain has quietly decided deserves an essay. Some are thoughtful. Some are funny. Most are a bit of both.

There are photographs, questionable life decisions, drawings that escaped my notebook, and more coffee than any reasonable person should consume. I don’t pretend to have everything figured out. I’m mostly just paying attention and writing down what I find.

I keep comments switched off because I’d rather write than moderate the internet. If something resonates, I’d love to hear from you on Instagram, Threads, or Ko-fi.

If you’ve ever felt a little out of step with the world, if you’ve ever found comfort in a notebook, a good mug, a quiet train journey, or making something just because you wanted to, you’re probably in the right place.

You don’t have to read everything.

Just find the essay that arrived on the same day as you.
